Those should go cheap.Have Bill rebuild them and you should have a nice set for a decent price..If you can snag both for a couple bills or less.. Rebuild should cost around $450. Diaphragms $180 + $240 for recones,couple of back covers another $30 or so.. But you would still need some sort of crossovers,active,diy,etc..
Why would anyone paint the phase plug ?
Hi.... looking at the Feepay photo's one speaker reads about 2.5 Ohm and the other around 6.7 ohms... my question is would it be possible to do something, (I'm not sure what.........re-magnetize?? ) both to get them close to each other?.

The paint would be pretty easy to remove from the phase plug and gap. Recone both for sure.
If a guy had a pair of say 902 drivers not being used, you could swap rear covers and frams over.
Might even be able to buy the manta horns from GPA?
The best stock xover would be the 604-8H or 902-8A.
Could be a fun project actually.
As long as they haven't been dropped.........
